Projecte MIRA II

The general objective of the project, based on the design and manufacture of the prototype of a multifunctional electric vehicle powered by electrical energy, is to carry out an analysis, identification and adaptation of robotics and vision technology that allows converting this vehicle into a labor system, capable of move autonomously through the field, detect the presence of workers and adapt to their movements and actions.

Project's information

Objectives

It is an IoT platform for the agricultural sector for the control and monitoring of implements related to planting, fertilization and spraying. This platform is based on:

  • A single electronic system for implementation management. This consists of sensors, actuators, GPS, data storage and wireless communications. The system has firmware that allows it to adapt to multiple implement configurations.
  • A multiplatform APP that is installed on a tablet on the tractor, and that allows you to connect wirelessly with the system that controls the implements.
  • Additionally, it manages alarms and relevant machine usage data. This same application is adapted to communicate with the different types of implementation. It also synchronizes usage data from all machines to a cloud database.
  • A responsive website (adaptable to the size of the device) for the visualization and analysis of data stored in the cloud. Allows the management of usage data by the user of the machines, as well as the implement manufacturers (use for continuous improvement, guarantees, etc.)

The Innovation action proposed by the MIRA II Project is the design of an intelligent management model based on an Internet of Things (IoT) solution, and cloud computing, for a variable fertilization system, a harvester machine control of bullets, and a control for a herbicide application machine.
